The Hunt

The Hunt

One of the best wildlife moments...

We had a morning Safari in the Junouna buffer of the Tadoba Tiger reserve and as a regular practice we were early and were the first gypsy at the gate.

The gate opened up and just as we entered within about 100 meters we heard some spotted deer alarm calls on the right ride of the safari track. One of the deer jumped across the road on to the left side in absolute confusion. What we saw next was stuff that dreams are made up of...

To our absolute shock we saw a leopard leap almost to about 12 feet mid-air and latching on to the deer and bringing it down.

It was 5.37 AM, almost pitch dark and yet we ended up getting enough time while the leopard lay the choke bite to get a decent video and a few pictures.

One of the most memorable moments of my wildlife career.
